That depends on the state and vehicle you're driving. Private vehicles must obey a speed limit of between 55 and 75 miles per hour, depending on what state they're in, and whether they're on an urbal or rural interstate highway.
For instance, a rural interstate in Colorado has a speed limit of 75mph, while an urban interstate in Washington DC has a limit of only 55. Most states have a limit of either 65 or 70--if you just stick at 65 you'll never get pulled over. (Might piss off the people behind you, though.)

On most Interstates, the speed limit is 70 mph, but there are sections (usually around residential areas) where the speed limit can be as low as 55 mph. The common understanding is that the police tends not to impose fines if you keep within about 10 miles above the speed limit.

Legally, you can drive up to 75 mph on some interstate highways in some locations.
Interstate speed limits can be as low as 50 mph in some places.

It depends on the area. Most rural interstate speed limits are 70 mph and 55-65 mph in the city. But it really varies from state-to-state.

well that depends... if you live in an urbanized area there is more traffic and cops i wouldnt go over 75 80 if traffic is slow, when i took my vacation i had to drive over 900 miles, and there were stretches of road hundreds of miles long with little or no traffic and i went 90-100 mph, however i dont recommend this it is dangerous practice, the only reason i sometimes drive like that is because i am accustomed to driving fast, i work on an ambulance, it is required we haul *** sometime.

The posted speed limit if you want to drive safely and avoid a ticket.
Driving fast is for professional drag racing where the drivers are harnessed in, and the road is clear and controlled in front of them.
I don't want to read about you in the obituary section.

The highest limit I've seen in my travels is 75.
Between Barstow, Ca. and and Las Vegas Nv., the highway patrol uses an airplane to spot speeders. Then, they radio a cop on the ground and you're busted.
Out in the wide open spaces, you can get away with 10 over usually.
Don't tell the cop I told you it was OK though.

As you enter the interstate, you will see a sign that indicates the speed limit. That is how fast you can drive there.

As fast as you want and your little car will carry you. Please don't drive fast when I am on the same interstate. I don't want you putting me in danger with your need to drive fast.
