While watching the debate (and I'm an atheist, so my view is a little biased of course) between the Rational Response Squad and Kirk Cameron/Ray Comfort, I couldn't help but feel that even the atheists could have defended God better than Cameron/Comfort did.

9 out of 10 Christians I see in this section could have easily done a better job than Cameron/Comfort. But how do Christians feel about these defenders of God?

As a Christian, I was very disappointed in the Christian representatives. If that's the best they can do, then we should all become Atheists.

I didn't see the debate you mention. But if you want to know my opinion of Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort, I am glad that they are speaking up for God.

Apparently you think they did not do a good enough job in giving convincing arguments and answers to make the case for Christ. The truth is that if some one is seeking God, it will not be another person's eloquence that convinces them; it will be God moving in their heart. If a person is not ready to respond to God, it doesn't matter how well you speak to them, because they would not believe even if Jesus in person spoke to them Himself.

The Bible says that if you teach others to follow the least of God's commandments, you will be called great in heaven. God's opinion of His people is that He loves them even though they are imperfect. Our best efforts in serving Him may be like a child's crayon drawings, but they are precious to God.

There are very few people whom I consider good defenders on the alleged god.

The basic problem is that in the realm of the supernatural, everything goes, so when you can't explain an item logically (like why no two manuscripts of the greek texts we have of the new testament are identical) you can just say "becuase god wanted it that way"

Not much debating skill required there.

no-but I'll bet they ask all the same stupid questions all the other people do... why are there still monkeys, why does this banana fit in my hand (and other places), atheists have faith...

in other words- they'd be half as much fun as the trolls, and I would probably answer all of their questions with a fart joke.

Meek Atheists vs Cheap Televangelists....

It could have been much better, maybe with Dawkins there.

Did you see how very quickly they went from "We won't invoke the Bible or faith at all while we prove God from a purely scientific, logical standpoint" to "Our faith in God and the Bible reveal to us the truth, and your trust in science and history is STUPID"?

They were a poor representation of Christian apologetics.
