We only hear about the deaths in Iraq but what about the soldiers who are injured physically and mentally?

sf chronicle----Few saw it coming, but six years into combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, health care providers are overwhelmed by the demand of returning veterans suffering from mental health stress or traumatic brain injury.

Few understood the financial impact war would have on the Veterans Affairs medical system, projected by a Harvard economist's study earlier this year to be as much as $600 billion.

Actually President Bush thought about the costs if we didn't have this Police Action! I assume by the tone and derogotory names you use for the president, you are one of the arm chair warriors that we fight for!! USMC 60-68

Despite the seditious way you speak about the President of the United States, it is worth it to answer you. Your lack of patriotism may not be worth noting, but your sedition shouldn't go unanswered.

No, he didn't. When something is right to do, you don't count the pennies. Interesting way to show us where your values lie. We believe you. President Bush did what was right regardless of the cost. You would have refused to and quoted "we have other priorities for our money".

Now you want to hear about the injuries and mental problems of our troops. Not once do I hear you call for a body count of the enemy. You have clearly chosen sides in this conflict, haven't you. Jane Fonda would be proud of you.

This is a global conflict, and you wish us to lose. This started long before you were born, with Islam's continuous attack and takeover of nation after nation. When they finally start using the sword more openly, you want to back down. Your lack of resolve and courage is...expected.

Oh, an argument can be fallacious, not a war. Use words you are more familiar with. Your arguments are foolish enough.

So what? Americans like to spend their useless money (litterally useless fiat currency) on junk. Wars would qualify for the "junk" category. 600 billion is nothing..just rack up the public debt even more to pay for it.

How would you define "costs" anyway? This is what sickens me about Americans, all they care about is money! Costs of this war should not just include the dead soldiers and the money America spends. But also the dead civilians, the homeless, the big unemployment, the cost to the Iraqi economy, etc. America killed that country...I don't think there will be any recovery.

Anyone with a fifth grade education should have figured out for themselves that this would be a long uphill battle.

If had a copy of the SF Chronicle, I would wipe it with my ***.

That Communist garbage isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

I have as much respect for anything coming out of San Francisco as you have for the President. Actually, I have less respect for the SF Chronicle.

"Costs" ?

No

He was more likely thinking of the PROFITS of his friends..... Exxon Mobil, Enron, Halliburton, Black Water, etc.

so a few thousand of our kids and a few hundred thousand of their civilans have to die for these profit dreams to come true

you can't apply human compassion and logic to Republicans.....they are self serving, racist, hate-mongering animals hiding behind the flag and the bible

Once you stop thinking like a human being...and apply their way of thinking to the equation....

Why wouldn't they go on a holy crusade oil war ?

Iraq ?

Yes.

Iran ?

Of course

Anywhere ?

As long as the country in question can't put up much of a defense and has resources corpporations can turn to profit.......Yes

I'm sure he counted how many toy soldiers he knocked over on his battlefield miniature. He may have had one or two toy soldiers with psychological problems. He would have picked them up and said something like: "Pow! Kapow! I hate you! Death to all non-wasps, non-Republicans, to the poor and to anyone who won't let me near that oil". Those toy soldiers had some major issues. He took into account the financial cost of the war when he had to hand over some cash to buy the battlefield miniature.

Of course not, because he doesn't care about the "cost". He only cares about the profits it provides for his buddies at Haliburton, Carlyle Group, Saudi Royal Family, Exxon.........Those are the only people he cares about.

Not at all. He couldn't have. If he thought rationally about the situation then he would have known it was pointless. If he did think about it he doesn't give a darn about the american people. He jumped into a stupid war and doesn't want to get out of it....ever
