Knowledge is so much more than memorized quotes from any book. Apparently a great amount of Christians have been taught that all answers are in the Bible. It makes me wonder how many intelligent people remain ignorant because of faith and their controlling shouters.

I find it quite telling that most of those attacking me for my statement believe I am an Atheist. That is the very epitome of ignorant behavior. Apparently they never really read any answers without a Bible quote. I've answered over 2600 questions now and I recognize many who apparently believe because my question here is not pro Christianity I must be an Atheist.....not that that isn't an honorable label. However, it proves my point in that they are like an inbreed family hifing in some hollow in the appalacians that doesn't believe in the rest of the world.
One more aside. At least Roman Catholicism has some cohesion in its teachings and has learned that many protestants *only* believe in protesting anything that they can't find in their version of the Bible.

But that's pretty much the whole Christian way of life. Ask no original, free thinking questions, just quote scripture like a good little goddite. Answer no questions with original thought, just quote more scripture. Isn't that all they know? They're not exactly encouraged to do more than that!

No, I don't tire of it - and it doesn't bother me either. I have also had best answers chosen by Christians and among other Christian answer when my answer isn't the 'party line'.
I'd like to offer comfort about your anger but somehow I don't think you'd be interested.
Blessings,

Higher knowledge is more important--AGREED
Go to any major private university and you will find a school of theology--highly thought of by Educators..
Atheists put stock in higher education and downplay the importance of the Bible. Higher Education respects the Bible enough to have a PHD in various aspects of Biblical training. An Atheist will say Christians are dumb, So much for the respect of EDUCATION. Please don't hide behind education--education acknowledges Faith beliefs. The use of scriptures in an answer is not memorization. It is applying
to life the principles of a Christianity. It does not matter what I think, It does matter how Jesus reacts to those same situations. Lets talk education--from a higher source. For you that's the Universities(they teach and offer degrees) Biology--Theology--which one did you choose?

So there's no way Atheists will give Christians "Best Answer", then? If you believe this I have a lovely statue in New York harbor that's for sale.

i'm a Christian, yet to apply Bible verses in isolation to what each and each e book is asserting exhibits that guy or woman, Christian on non-Christian, does not understand a thank you to study it right. by making use of taking a verse out-of-context skill there is an schedule and an attempt to regulate what the Scriptures are asserting. when you consider which you do a similar difficulty, you're merely attempting to argue with them. merely tell me you do not have self assurance it and that i'll admire your honesty, yet once you utilize Bible verses, it could practice you do not incredibly understand the way it works.

Ignorance is those who don't know the truth of God and his word. What we say is right does not matter we are not God. If you set certain standards in your household...just because your kids don't agree with it does not change the fact that it is your rules...if they don't like it they don't have to live there. Denying the truth doesn't change the fact that it IS the truth...It just makes you wrong.

Depends on the question. If it's a question about Christian faith (which is affirmed by the Bible), dogma (which is based on the Bible), or the Bible itself, then of course the Bible should be quoted.
You seem to believe that just because people understand the Bible, they must be ignorant. Get a grip.
Edit: Terry, shame on you. I just picked one of your earlier answers, just one, and you did the unthinkable - you quoted!!!! The difference is you did not attribute your source, which is illegal in some cases, and always unethical.

It beats all the pseudo-intellectuals that are wise in their own mind by studying all the wordly humanistic texts. Christians get tired of all the quotes and theories from Marx, Darwin, tv, pop psychology, movies, best sellers, etc....
