Your BMI is 25.5, which is just barely into the overweight range. The high end of Normal is 179 pounds.

BMI is not always accurate if you have a muscular build, but it is a good start since the weight ranges are quite wide.

If you are not comfortable, you should probably try to drop a few pounds and see if you feel better.

Another good health indicator is your waist to hip ratio. If a lot of weight went to your stomach, you may be increasing your risk for heart disease. Check it out here...

183 is a perfect weight for 5'11

I bet before you were too thin.

If you feel a little flabby work out a bit to tone up, but I would not consider you overweight at all

Oh and don't worry about body mass charts. They are meaningless as they can't tell the percentage of weight that is made up of muscle and bone vs fat.

no, you like so many other college students gain that college 15, however you gained a little more than 15 pounds. the general test is to sit down, and if your belly is going over your pants waist, you could afford to loose a couple of pounds. but that does not mean you are overweight. my first year of college, i gained the college 15 too, but i've managed to loose it the following year.i think you will from going to school, studying all the time. but i think the main reason you gain that 15 pounds is from eating out and drinking. just try not to eat fast food all the time. good luck.

Even if your BMI is still within normal range, you have gained alot of weight in a relatively short time. Suggest you stop munching while you study and get out and increase your exercise daily.

You don't say if you're male or female, that makes a difference. Maybe you need to exercise and tone up

I wouldn't say overweight, no. Maybe not lean or skinny, but I don't think you're overweight.

Fat and overweight mean the same thing.
