If so they should realize that most fruits and vegetables they buy at the store are GMO.

Morally repugnant? No.
Not really what we should be doing? Probably.
Something I think I can effect? Probably not

I was pondering some of the Leviticus laws the other day - you know, "what not to eat" kinds of laws. Before modern science determined that eating pork, shrimp, catfish, lobster was bad for you, there it was in the bible. So I looked at some others (I got interested, because I'm in a MLM company selling nutritional supplement - AKA vitamins)

You know the Welch's commercial about all the anti-oxidants in grape juice? Well, the BIG source is the grape SEED. Ever hear of "grape seed extract"? Many companies produce a form of it - supposed to help prevent cancer. The bible says to eat of all the fruit WITH SEEDS. It makes me wonder about how much of the antioxidant is removed from the grape when we make seedless grapes? And if things like grapes were put here to protect us from cancer, how much of that protection have we erased?

Seedless fruit are made by cross pollination - the bible says to NOT plant more than one type of crop in a field - wonder if "seedlessness" is what God wanted to prevent?

I don't know about genetically modified stuff though.

They're morally repugnant to anyone that doesn't want thier food tampered with that way. The heck with what I think God has to say about it, I am worried about the long term effects on our overall health, and the overall health of the planet..... There are ways to improve the quality and yield of our crops by selecting and cultivating stronger and better strains, we don't need to do it by inserting foreign DNA in them.... Monsanto or whoever likes to give the impression it's about feeding the world, and making sure everybody has enough food, the problem with that is that alot of the people who are going hungry are not doing so because there isn't enough to feed them, but because thier governments are interfering in people's efforts to do so, I have heard a number of stories along the way of countries sending aid to countries where thier people are starving, and the food just plain isn't reaching the ones it is meant for..... They can't get a patent on a natural product, they have to tinker with it to have a product they can get a patent on, and they are developing things like "terminator" seeds, that produce sterile crops, so a farmer can't put seed aside for next year's planting, and has to go to them for thier future crops. It's really more about agribusiness turning a fast buck, and producing food more cheaply, and more profitably, at our expense, we have surpluses on a regular basis that don't make the store shelves because it would bring the prices down too much, and don't make it to hungry people because of politics. Now that's repugnant.

I spent 10 years in the produce industry. You don't know the half of it when it comes to how much of what we eat that has been genetically modified one way or another. If you saw what I saw you'd be ill. Is it any wonder diseases and illness seem to be increasing? That's the real issue for me is not the fact that we're breaking God's "Laws", it's the fact that we are playing God and reaping the "benefits."

I am anything but fundamental or orthodox, but I think it's a very slippery slope, yes. Anything genetically altered I think is asking for trouble, because we all realize where it will lead or are too ignorant to consider it. If we could "engineer" a "perfect" human child, who's to say it would be raised right, learn moral values, or make good decisions? What if that child decided to be the "perfect" bank robber? Or "perfect" serial killer?

No, the fact that people have successfully genetically modified plants successfully proves that it does not break God's natural laws!

God created all things, good and evil, and it is our job to make the choices that are best for humankind from the plethora of possibilities that the Lord has given us. If God did not intend for us to genetically modify food supplies so that they are more abundant or more nutritious, he would not have given us the capacity to do so.

anyone who thinks they are repugnant should be drug out in the street and shot.

They should take time to not be a freaking snotty self-centered *** and come back to reality.

When 100% of the world has food, then they can spout thier crap, until then keep thier selfish "holier than thou" crap out of feeding poor and needy people.
