1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.

The first passage was Romans: 14

1 Timothy 4

1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

Wow, you must feel really attacked, here. I, however, am more open minded. I get what you're saying but many people aren't against eating the meat but are more against the abuse the animals endure, most of the time making it a little more unhealthy for eating. Puss & things of that nature can come in contact with it because they are so severly mistreated. I believe God also wanted us to treat animals with love & respect. & that's what many ppl are about.

:)

Some of us who walk the earth were given the job of caring for God's creatures and working to prevent cruelty towards them. I can only assume you know less about God than you do about PETA and vegetarians. Obviously reading the bible doesn't make people wiser or kinder.

You are using biblical quotes to attempt to prove a point. This is inadmissible, as the bible contains too many errors (not to mention internal contradictions) to be satisfactory as evidence for anything. You are also assuming that god exists and has opinions, assumptions which are based on no evidence whatever, so that is also inadmissible. Personally, I despise PETA, but if one is to have opinions on such matters, they must be based on objective evidence.

Okay, but what about Daniel and his friends eating only vegetables? And we didn't have factory farming in biblical times. If we are sinning by mistreating animals, since we are to be good stewards of the earth and its inhabitants, wouldn't vegetarianism be permissable.

what makes you think that God is going to "pass judgment on a disputable matter" just after He's told you not to? the Bible is telling you here NOT to get hung up on what people are eating. being a vegetarian isn't a sin anymore than not being one is.

God created every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it, they will be yours for food, man was originally designed, by God to be a vegetarian.

If humans started out eating vegetation, why would you consider it a sin? This is a strange question despite your attempt to explain it with scriptures. I'm not sure you understand the scriptures correctly.

It says their faith is weak, but it does not call eating veggies a sin. And God hates ALL sin, and we all sin, but He does not hate us who do the sin.
It is people who have placed "degrees" upon sin. God does not do that. To Him, sin is sin, regardless of whether humans consider it 'greater' or 'lesser'.

Anyway I'm angry with them for wanting to kill a baby polar bear just b/c humans have taken care of it.

It is not a sin to be a vegetarian. Yes, the Bible does permit eating meat, btw.
