That depends on who it is from.

James,
If I find one that interests me I generally read it thru very carefully and sometimes twice. If I am not interested then I move on to another posting rather quickly. I also do not appreciate long scriptural references that are not to the point of the question. I find them rather offensive. Occaisionally, my answers are also too long. If this is the case, I appologize. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,
Eds, Christian

I read some long posts, and write long questions.
But I think many who ask questions don't read answers at all...
Example: We have a guy comes in and says "where are the tranistional fossils" he gets, like, 20 answers with links and pictures, then 3 days later he posts "where are the transitional fossils"

I too am guilty of skimming over a lenghty question. I am guilty of writing them as well. I get the gest of it usually in the first few sentences.

I tend to read nothing that is full of scripture quotes. I want the person to speak for him/herself not quote someone from over 2000 years ago. If you have learned something from the bible tell me about it - don't quote it at me. Chances are I've heard it all before and life's too short.

I'll read a few paragraphs but I won't read those that go on and on for more than 4 paragraphs or so... and I definitely don't read those that have copied and pasted religious crap from a religious website.

Any post that goes on and on and on as I scroll down and includes eighteen paragraphs of scripture (from anyone's book!) is completely annoying to me. An answer should be succinct on these sites...no one is going to sit there and read a book.

No.I seldom read any.I peruse some at times to gauge the mental abilities of people here....invariably to my dismay. The long answers are usually by fools.Exceptions arise, but I try to keep it brief and concise.

If they're coherent and making a good argument I read all of it but if they're rambling I don't read beyond the first couple of lines. Cut and paste I don't read at all.

It depends on the subject, what the person has to say about it and how well they can put it into words.
Not every question has a "quick fix" answer...
Everybody in the world has SOMETHING to teach me!
