I think some of them do. I get the Purina ProPlan magazine and they all eat that, at least if they're featured in the magazine. A lot of the show dogs look wonderful because of all the grooming they get.
The large dog food companies DO have the big money to sponsor the shows though.

First of all, I wouldn't feed my dog Pedigree or Ol Roy if they were the last dog foods on the face of the planet. Now, as for Science Diet, Eukanuba and Purina, yes they are used alot by dog show breeders. I am not sure if you know of the dog show breeder, Linda Clark, she lives here in Tulsa, OK, but when she shows on the Dog Shows, it always says she shows out of Oklahoma City, OK. Her husband is a Vet that use to have 5 vet clinics here in Tulsa, OK, but he sold them to VCA and they now only have one. They feed their show dogs Science Diet, but here is the key. Vegitable oil. Eggs. Can dog food. Things that keep the dog interested in the food. And believe it or not, canned cat food or tuna fish. Though they are not good for an everyday meal, adding one of these ingrediants to a meal every once in a while, really helps. Give it a try and you might see how much the coat begins to shine

No. My dog was on the Portland Eukanuba show on Animal Planet two years in a row. He was a top dog in his breed for two years running (he is semi-retired to just being a dog now) and finished last year as #3 with an all-breed best in show. We had two invitations to the BIG Eukanuba show last year.
My dogs to not eat that..um.... stuff.

Every one has a favorite dog food, and perhaps it is the best choice FOR THEIR DOG. But, it is a fool that thinks it is the best food for every dog.
Here is an "Award of Excellence" at the Eukanuba National. Again this dog has never eaten anything but Pro-Plan

She was also invited to Crufts

Yeah, I live in the UK but its the same, these brands are recomended by vets alot. More expencave brands achaully save you money in the long run so its better spending more on a big bag on kibble that lasts months, then to buy a few cheap canned tins of wet chow. Eukanuba, or more commenly known as Iams, isnt achually that recomended by vets as, unlike Royal Canine (which I feed my cats and dogs) spends money on advertising rarther then what goes into the food, I belive Royal Canine works best as its got the best ingredience. The was a lot of contreversy over Eukanuba (Iams) as they tested there products on dogs and cats (mostly beagles) and it killed hundreds of dogs. They also used to give many animals upset tummies. I would highly reccomend Royal Canine as they spend all there money on the best ingredience to go into there food rarther then spending it all on TV comercial advertising.

Hi there,
A lot of them don't, but some of the breeders are sponsored by those food company's and part of of there sponsorship is that they feed there dogs that particular brand exclusively. Most showies will have there own favourite and that dog food. There are a lot more people feeding the BARF diet which consists mainly of raw foods (if you do a google search you'll find heaps of info). Those food company's sponsor some of the dog shows but the exhibitors do not have to use that brand of food to enter them :-)

There are some show dogs that are fed these foods, but far more are fed quality foods such as Canidae, Innova, Solid Gold, Chicken Soup For The Dog Lover's Soul, Merrick, etc.

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tinyurl.im/p6vrp
By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.
To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.

It is very difficult to train a dog if you do not have the proper dog training equipment. The right piece of equipment, when properly fitted, helps aid in communication between you and your pet.
Leather Dog Collars, Harnesses, and Leashes
Basic training equipment that every owner needs is a leather dog collar and a dog leash. When you are placing the collar on your pet, you will want to make sure that it is snug enough that it won't slide over your dog's head should they balk, but it isn't so tight that it is restricts their ability to breathe.
Every time you put the collar on your dog, you need to check the fit. Puppies grow, and older dogs can gain and lose weight as well, which will also impact how the collar fits. In addition to making sure that the collar fits properly, you will want to check to make sure that the buckle isn't showing signs of strain, that the stitching is good, and that the leather hasn't developed dry rot.
Many people also like to have a leather dog harness for their dog. Many dog owners feel that a dog harness is more secure, and also provides better control than a traditional dog collar. The harness allows you to move the dog's entire torso, as opposed to simply jerking on the neck when you need the dog to stop or heel.
Knowing How to Properly Use Dog Training Equipment
Knowing the type of equipment that you need is only part of the dog training experience. You also need to know how to properly use it. The best way to make sure that you are using the equipment properly is by signing up for a dog obedience course.
The great thing about dog obedience courses is that you will be working with someone who knows how dog training equipment works, and they will also be able to offer tips and suggestions about what you can do when you and your pet seem to be having communication issues. It is important to note that if you have a pet that tends to be aggressive, whether towards other dogs or people, the instructor might suggest that your dog wear a dog muzzle. This will allow the other dog owners in the surrounding environment to feel more secure, and may also prevent the outbreak of a fight from ensuing between your dog and other dogs in the class.
Advanced Dog Training Options
As your pet gets older, you may decide to explore more training options. Once a dog has mastered basic obedience, there are several different options available to you. Some people decide that they want to teach their puppy how to move through obstacles, and then later go on to compete in agility classes.
Some people even decide to learn more about having their dog certified to be a search and rescue dog. If you decide that you want to pursue a specific type of advanced dog training, you will be required to purchase additional dog training equipment that is applicable for your specific needs.
The exact type of equipment that you and your dog will need will depend on the type of training you pursue. For example, if you are hoping to utilize your dog as a means of protection, chances are highly likely that any attack dog training equipment that you will need will be entirely different from the majority of the training tools that you would purchase for agility training.
When you have the proper dog training tools, and have been educated about how they should be used in the proper manner, you will find that training your canine family member is much easier than you would expect.
