No one can predict the future. No one.

And I have long lost track of how many times I was -sure- I knew what was coming, and I was wrong.

For some of us, life is relatively easy, no hard choices to make, no real pain to endure.

But for some of us, life is a roller coaster full of ups and downs.

But bailing out of a roller coaster is never a good idea.

Those for whom life is easy rarely develop any sense of wisdom. And humanity, our world, needs all the wisdom we can get.

Whomever your friend is, he/she is on a path that will give him/her a great deal of wisdom. There will come a time when he/she will find that there are many people turning to him/her for help, for love, and for wisdom.

The path of wisdom isn't easy (o how I know this to be true). But to know that, someday, he/she will be the -only- one who can help others, can bring meaning and purpose to his/her life like nothing else.

I wrote the following several days ago. Its on my 360 blog. They are kernels of truth I've learned during my journey, and may help:

The hero is a person who stands against outrageous odds, who too often struggles alone against forces that cannot be defeated.

The hero is a person who struggles to fulfill a dream, be it Love, Freedom or the power to influence the future.

The hero is a person who values what we all value: family, friendship, loyalty, courage, integrity.

The hero is a person who does not compromise, does not surrender, does not seek profit.

The only thing that stands between the hero, and the tragic hero, is success or failure.

To struggle against Fear, for the sake of Love, that is perhaps the quintessential struggle every hero must face.

In this, we are all heroes. For each of us must face Fear every day. And we must find the courage to defeat it so that we may Love.

Those of us who fall to Fear are indeed tragic, for under the thrall of Fear we toil without hope of freedom and without hope for love. Those who fall to Fear await a hero who will free us from our shackles.

And those of us who do not fall weep for those who have fallen. Our Love, our compassion, stings us to the core and demands we make the sacrifices necessary to free them.

This is the quintessential quality of a hero: selflessness.

There is no Love without courage. There is no Freedom without compassion.

There is no hero without selflessness.

There is no tragedy without surrender.

Consider the child learning to walk.

He falls down, gets up, falls down, gets up...repeating this process until he learns to stand without falling.

Then he takes a step, falls down, gets up, takes another step, falls down, gets up...repeating this process until he learns to walk without falling.

A child has no sense of self-consciousness. He is not persuaded by failure to give up. Instead, each failure is a lesson with which he learns to succeed.

So it should be with you.

The only true failure is giving up. Even if you never learn to walk, there is no shame in falling down, as long as you never give up on yourself.

Because you, just you, are a precious gift to us all. Every day you live, whether you are aware of it or not, you change the world and the universe will feel a great loss if you choose to go. Stay. Keep trying and I can guarantee that things will get better. Find a person to talk to (there are anonymous help lines you can phone who are waiting to talk to you and give you support) and don't try to save yourself....it's really tough to climb up and find the energy to ask for help but you can do it. Being a teen can really suck but it's not all there is to life if you can hang on. YOU are the most precious thing in life and I wish I could find the words to convince you of this or at least put my arms around you and make it O.K. Bless

Yes you do. FAMILY? Heavenly FATHER and his son Jesus Christ; your Brother. LOVE: what more could you ask, your father sent you here well knowing of the sorrows you would face that you might know joy, your brother bore your sins and gave his life for you. As for FRIENDS you must first love yourself before you can see that you already have friends. Money although nice to have doesn't change the feel, you can't put a square where a circle should be. FAME, put your glory in God there is no need to be famous. Find yourself and you will see what you thought was gone has been there all along. If you feel your life is not worth living, you can change that! I have. One can not know joy if one has never known sorrow. "you are who you CHOOSE to be."

Life is full of possibilities - the one thing you can count on is change. There is time to make new friends and to gain love, money, or fame - if that is what you want. Sometimes family is who you choose - not who you were born to. Know that with time, everything can look better. I know. It is precious because it is short - you will look back one day and marvel at how much better you feel - don't give up on the chance to enjoy the seasons and new friends and the chance to learn and to work and to create your own life. the chance to read, or grow flowers or to dance. and lastly - you would be surprised to know how many people care about you - give them a chance....

I don't think that for anyone considering suicide, there is any answer to this question that will suffice. The problem is their own way of thinking. That has to change before anyone can see precious things. You could show a suicidal person the most wondrous, amazing thing in the world, but it wouldn't inspire or excite them. They need help. Help to understand why they feel this way, and help to change.

Life is presiouse because the range of human experiance, good and bad is all that we as human beings will have. It is easy to get discouraged by a sociaty that makes so many promises that it cannot keep, especially when trying to give life meaning. However, it is the right and duty of all life forms to find their own meaning in life, and to assign vallue to all that which is a part of ones own personal world. One should not expect meaning and purpose to be innate in anything, or to be handed to them from on high, instead, one should seek that meany and purpose in their own hearts, and draw from it strength and confedence to pursue their own personal path. Only this makes life presiouse.

Life is great because it is what you make it. The future is what makes life precious. Committing suicide as a teen is dumb. If your brain isn't even fully working yet (check the science) how can you be expected to make decisions for the future-you, whose brain is fully functional.

May God help you!
If you can reach this person, try to impart the idea that she/he has the spirit of God with in her/his life.
God has a reason for her/his life.
She/he should stick around to find out what it is,I think it's not suicide.
