Praise be to Allah, the best of creators, surely the best of guidance.

Subhanallah so nice to hear that you have converted. You know people are always jelous of the truth. No one here has even disproved anything about islam after all they bring in terrorism which is not even in Islam. Brother Allah si the best of guidance and dont and please dont doubt about you conversion. Surely youve done the right thing. Have you seen how many people are actually trying to be against you. Allah says in the Quran " The disbelievers abuse the light of Allah ( the quran, muhammed, islam etc.) but Allah will bring his light back to perfection even though they hate it."

As you can see clearly thats what people here are trying to do after all it just shows how ignorant they are. Do more research brother, learn more about Islam. Your saying your only 18 but there is a sister i know who converted to Islam when she is only 13 and her parents dont know. Subhanllah Allah is the best of Guidance and surely the best of creators. Dont mind about what people are doing here after all they are sayin this all so blindly. Inshallah may Allah bless you and lead you in the straight path. Please feel free to email me about any questions you have brother i will try my best to help you. After all ill be soo much more than happy to help you out with Islam brother. You're very young to make such a big commitment, but if Islam is the religion that speaks truth to your spirit, then continue exploring. Keep your mind open and learn about other philosophies too, though, spend some time thinking about it, you are at an age when most are doing alot of questioning about thier relationship to the Divine. As for why people are giving you are hard time, if you are in the US, Islam has a bad image right now, and the press, and our government will use whatever way they can to justify war in Iraq. It's too bad, because I have met some very lovely Muslim people here, who denounce terrorism, and want to share what they consider the good things about Islam. I don't think all Muslims are terrorists, but unfortunately, alot of people do. Look at it as a test of your commitment, to make sure it is really the correct path for you. Look at it also as a test of your understanding of Islam, what tools does this religion offer you in practice or scripture, that help you to be a better person, to remain serene under fire, to deal with those who harrass you with wisdom and grace, instead of violence, and to rise above? If you can practice with thought and love, and use what you have learned to make a positive difference in the world, then good. Make use of those tools, they are there for a reason. Good luck, and I hope you find what you are searching for....

See ur an adult now that ur 18 so its not like ur too young or sumthin 4 choosing which faith ud like to follow. Do some more research on islam from AUTHENTIC sources and try 2 learn more on it. people are nowadays totally dependant on the media to make their opinions for them and look towards anti muslim sites for getting answers on islam.
Fanatical muslims have also ruined the image of islam with their un acceptable behaviour which totally contradicts the true islam.

To rachel f- what is the so called "ishaq" that ur talkin abt? Muslims dun even consider tht source to be authentic and true.
oh n cud u cite the verses which call 4 "raping" non believers?
seriously, u have 0% knowledge of the quran.

Assalamualaykum. Welcome to Islam. The reason for this is because there are people who refuse to read, hear, and see the proof. ALLAH has hardened their hearts and made them deaf, dumb, and blind like sheep led to the slaughter. But ALLAH will allow anyone HE wants to come to Islam. Many people see and listen the the Jewish controlled media spreading lies about Islam and they don't take the time to see what Islam is really about so they let the media think and decide for them which is wrong. But that is the way it is. They deny the proof even when it is all around them. Yes you have done the right thing by converting. As long as you are truly believing that ALLAH is the one and only God and Muhammad(PBUH*) is the slave and messenger of ALLAH don't let anyone tell you differently. True you will be hated and tried to be led astray by non Muslims but don't listen to them and stay steadfast on the Straight Path and you will go to Jinnah Insha ALLAH providing you are a good Muslim and never waver.

First of all welcome to islam !!

Yes you are not wrong in embracing it, thing is that islam is the most misunderstood religion in the world this time...first there were few ignorant who done something wrong and then it was applied to whole 1.6 billion large muslim community...and only muslims and islam is "blessed" with thie generalization and not the other communities... just see the other terrorist around the world..they would be labelled as just "terrorists" but if someone from islamic community do the same, Whole muslim community would be accused for that and they would be highlighted as "islamic terrorists"...this is stereotyping and this is the reason that people are brainwashed against it...and hate it..they never bother to make a research on it...but just follow the media and all crap sites...! Btw there is some politics involeved in all this sceen but if i start explaining that it would take very long'
Just advising you, Don't be confused......but if you are.....take some guidance from someone or from muslims in your surrounding..make a research about all the doubts that you have about this religion and make your mind clear then go for it...........following islam is not an easy job, on every step you would have to face thousands of hindrance..loads many things and people would come to confuse you and satan would always be after you.....one need to understand this religion from better source and with sincerity !! If i could be of any help, you are welcome to mail me.........but be clear about it first . study this religion and when you feel that you are convinced then think of furthur .and decide on your own ! All the best !

Edit:

the answer to the verses given by "rachel f" is in this link given below . this is how the reputation of islam is damaged..by taking the verses out of context but when you would the same verses with context , the meaning would change...thats why i said one need to make a small "research" to know the truth..follow the answers of muslims in that link and see the context of these verses and you would understand how the meaning gets change when it is read with context !

Peace be with you!

Edit:

rachel f ....Quran is a book which need to be study in flow ..and if you would pick up one or two verses like this , you would obviously not get it....Our war is defensive and i go with this....One should not be sitting calm when they are being attacked..we believe in "fighting back" and ofcourse this is our right to fight back... Why should we allow someone to just take away our land and rule us?? Btw if i take verses from other scripture.... would you be able to prove it to me? I don't know whether these are taken out of context or not..becuase i didn't read bible myself like you didn't read quran...but i am able to explain my scripture ...would you explain me this? I hate quoting other books...and always aviod becuase i know i have no knowledge of such..but when people take quran out of context then i am compelled to reply ! and I am "Seriously " feeling sorry for posting this links !!

maybe you should have studied it more first?

If you want to become Catholic, you have to go through classes for around 9 months so that if you do join, you know what you are doing.

18 is young, why did you convert? Did you study the faith and others as well in depth first? There are some that let you "Convert" by just showing up and saying "I believe" but do you know what you are saying you believe in?

Keep an open mind and do some real study of other faiths, do not study Christianity from anti-Christian sites and do not study Islam from anti-Islam sites.

I studied Islam for over two years and I could never accept Muhammad as a true Prophet, or deny the Divinity of Jesus, so I became Catholic.

Peace and God Bless your journey!

P.S. to the poster above, why would Allah purposely harden any ones hearts? Why would Allay not want us all in heaven? Your post sounds like Allah would exclude some from heaven. The God that I believe in is Love with a capital "L" God would not exclude anyone from heaven or harden their hearts, God wants us ALL to go to heaven. The only way we do not go to heaven is when we exclude ourselves, and we are each responsible for our own salvation.

Asalaamu alaiykum, brother.

Welcome to the fold. I believe you did the right thing, but you have to believe you did the right thing. Try not to worry about what other people think. I'm the only Muslim on my mother's side of the family, so you can imagine the discussions we have.

Insha'Allah, hit me up if you need.

It's your decision. Do some research, take some classes, read some books, then make a decision.
