It depends on where you are calling from and varies. Most of the time I contact an operator to give me the correct code when I get there.

44 is the country code. Also if that doesn't work, try 44 then 011. I've had some weird problems with this. And if the number your calling starts with 020 you don't need the first 0, just 20 ...

it is 00+1+the area code of the state you calling e.g. if you calling San Francisco, CA. it is 00+1+415+ local number or for San Jose, CA it is 00+1+408+local number. check out www.countrycallingcodes.com

When I was in Mexico I had to dial 001 before the phone number on my cell phone.

I just can't believe it you don't know such a simple thing. Anyway enough of taunting hehe. Dear it is simply +1 thats right the only country having international country code as 1

From UK it is 00-1 and from US/Canada/Caribbean to any other country, it is 011
