The KAMA Sutra (originally named Kamasutram, but known to the Western world as Kama Sutra), is considered to be the standard work on love in Sanskrit literature. A small portion of the work deals with human sexual behavior, and this is generally what the Western world identifies with when the Kama Sutra is mentioned. Leave it to the Westerners, heh!

No. A great deal of it actually talks about what accomplishments women should have (things for men to look for in wives), the differences between different Indian cultures, how men should comport themselves in public and at home, how to set up your house, charitable giving, and of course the whole sex thing. It's actually a fascinating read. I have a copy that was printed in 1923 in England with a page inside that says "This volume is not intended for the general public, but only doctors and teachers." The modern version of the Kama Sutra focuses only on the sexual aspect. There is much, much more to it than that.

The "Doctrine of Karma" does not seem to be perceived in the form of one seperate Sutra(m).The in formation regarding Karma is extensively scattered in Vedam,Saastram, Puraanam,Aagamam, Kalpam,Sooktham in different Sutram -all Hindu religious Texts--I do not know whther you confuse it with sri.Vaatsaayanaa's "Kaama Sutram", which is not Religious Text. But it is regarding Sexual relationships.
