I am thinking of becoming an atheist, but?

no one has been able to convince me or show proof that there is no God, what should i do?

I won't say that there is absolutely no possibility of there being a god (or someone named god) in the universe, but I can definitely prove beyond a shadow of sanity that it is not any of the gods currently circulated in popular literature.

The fact that no two continents have ever had the same god without someone from one continent going over to another and introducing their concept of god to the other shows

1. Neither god was existent to the the people of the opposing continent prior to their meeting.
2. Neither god was able to cross to the other continent without the aid of people.
3. Neither god was powerful enough totally eliminate the other god.
4. Both gods could only spread in the same way ideas and diseases do: through personal contact with previously exposed individuals or materials.

If it were any of the gods currently in circulation, especially any of the ones that claim to be all powerful, knowing, and present, then this simply would not be the case.

Christians, don't take it personal, I did not attack your god specifically, I just pointed out how ALL of the god concepts fail in their claims to be the true god. It just simply isn't the case.

I suggest you become spiritual to find inner peace, or just look for evidence of god yourself, thinking about what would be consistent with an all mighty creator that can do anything you could imagine and is supposed to be smarter than you.

If you're waiting for proof from either side of the arguement, you'll be waiting until the day you die. Literally. That's the only time anyone will have proof one way or the other (and if you're an atheist,being proved right won't much matter as there's no afterlife).

But hopefully you can see through all the lies of religion!

Realize that it's not up to the person claiming something ISN'T true to provide truth. One cannot prove a negative. It is up to those making the claim that something exists to prove it.

So, from where I sit... atheism is the default position. The bible isn't proof. Trees and the sun aren't proof. An answered prayer (merely a coincidence) is not proof.

Proof is tangible and I see no tangible proof of god. Make up your own mind.

First, look around you at creation---surely it has a Designer.
Next, read the Bible and seek God.
The Bible is historically accurate and no one has been able to disprove it.
It does take faith to believe and God will give it to you if you truly seek Him.
No one can be a true atheist---there will always be someone or something worshipped!
My advice is to seek the true God!

There is no proof one way or the other. I think we should just all go by what makes sense to us. I think God respects independent thought. There is no right or wrong answer.

I would venture to guess that no one has been able to supply proof of the existence of God, either, so you may have to take the dangerous course of living with the question unanswered and unanswerable. This is called "agnosticism," and I find it the most reasonable position to take.

The Holy Spirit is looking for men of good will, men who will be makers of the Renewal that God has already created in His Spirit. In order to achieve that, the place must be neutral, with no prejudice. This Renewal needs to take several paths that will all end up into the Spirit who is Light. Today I am looking for the pagans; My Love wants to prove that I can fill in all the spiritual voids, that I am in this soul as much as I am in another one who declares herself “ a friend of God” and with My word I am going to give Life again to the one who was already buried in his tomb; Just as I did for Lazarus.

This pagan is at last going to know the Life, the True Life. He is going to meet his saviour because I am going to give him lucidity. He is going to fill in his spirit with the only Name that saves every being on this Earth; this Name that saves every man, little and big, coming from every religion, from every race. This Name, Jesus Christ, has been given by the Angel of the Lord at the Annunciation.

Who has been looking for you first, is it you or Me? Therefore I will go first towards the pagans because I want to save them all.

It's not about convincing you it's about your own freely made choice. Be intellectually honest and examine the evidence and if it doesn't support the existence of God ask yourself if you can rightly continue believing. Atheism is the logical default.
