I have had multiple bouts with kidney stones ranging from simply passing them to requiring hospitalization. There are many forms including calcium carbonate and uric acid. Cranberry juice is not a cure-all, nor is anything else. I have never had a rash nor have I heard of a rash forming with a stone. If it is a stone, be sure to capture it and have it analyzed to determine what kind it is. ADD- Depending on the scan, not all stones are noticeable. If it is an x-ray, it may not pick it up, however a cat scan will. If they did not see one with a cat scan, doubt there is one.

I had a kidney stone 4 years ago and let me tell you the pain was unbearable. I didn't get any rash. The pain just hit me one day and lasted for about 10 minutes then it went away. I was ok but then a week later the pain came again and went away after 10 minutes. The next day I was driving home from work and it hit me again. I said "That's it!" and I drove to the doctor. The next day I went to the hospital and they told me i had a kidney stone. They prescribed pain killers and about a week later I must have passed it. End of story.

I didn't experience any symptoms other than pain and of course blood in my urine.

Go see a Urologist.

I do not know about the rash. I personally have never had them because we drink unsweetened cranberry concentrate, drink. This is very acidic and dissolves the kidney stones.

The health food store carries unsweetened cranberry concentrate. Mix 8 ounces with 1 gallon of water, and drink 6 ounces before each meal and between each meal.

Yes, I woke up in the night with the severest pain imaginable. Of course, I took it like a man.
I screamed until the doctor arrived and gave me morphine. Seriously, I couldn't stop yelling. Thankfully, it was gone in the morning.
Didn't have any rash though.
I really hope your dad is ok, let me know how he gets on. xx
