Select the items that you want to take off the computer and onto floppy (to select multiple items, hold ctrl and left click once on each item). Hit ctrl+x (this will cut these items from your computer). Then go to the floppy that you want to move them to and hit ctr+v (this will "paste" them onto the floppy).

BTW, if you are moving things onto a floppy to make room, it's going to take a while. Each floppy only holds about 1.4MB. It's time to upgrade to at least a CD-R drive.

Sweetie...
You need to buy a "jump drive" also known as a flash drive from a office supply store of computer/electronics store.
Nobody uses a floppy anymore because it's harder to transfer the information.
The jump drive can hold a ton of information on it (at least 5x's more than a floppy) and will dramatically decrease the "free space" on your computer. M'kay.

You need to decide which files you want to back up. Usually you want to do things like music and pictures. Find those files, and copy them to the disc. Once copies, delete them from your computer. You will normally find those files in the "My Documents" folder on your computer.

Do not copy or delete any of the programs. If you have a program that you want to remove, you will need to go to the Control Panel, click on the Add/Remove Programs icon, find the porgram you want to get rid of, and click on it. You should get a "Remove" button for the program.
