adobe reader is a program that reads and can create pdf files. it is a very useful program and many documents that are sometimes created are used in an pdf format.

It's a software that lets you read .pdf files (portable document format). pdf files are highly efficient (size wise) formats. Most of the spec documents are in pdf format. Documents that take Mega Bytes of space can be compressed to take Kilo Bytes when converted to pdf.
