You are obviously not familiar with welfare square or the many church farms or the practice of fast offerings, or the bishops storehouse or the churches coordination with other charities and the red cross, or the many scouting for food drives etc. This church spends so much time and money feeding starving children all over the world that your criticism is absolutely ridiculous. And if I wasn't a Christian I would invite everyone in this forum to point their finger at you and laugh. Everytime there is a major natural disaster the first boots on the ground with aide are the Latter-Day Saints followed shortly after by the Mormons (they are the same people which is why the joke is funny). Rest assured you aren't going to lose everything and starve because we collect canned goods in our basement. In fact I would invite you to collect canned foods in your basement. It really helps stabilize your grocery bill and at Christmas you can donate a lot to food banks without touching your pocketbook. Also Mormons don't vote in a block. Harry Reid is a democrat and a Mormon (and it's time he put up or shut up about this tax return thing. The nerve of him demanding to see tax returns without releasing his own tax returns.) My father-in-law is a Libertarian.

It can be people helping people in the first allowable and affordable period. When everybody gets hungry everybody will be making sure their stomach is going to be filled at least enough to survive for a day or two. When nothing is going good, then people will start being creative, small some will insist on still doing the right thing, some might take the opportunity over another and the most uncreative thing will be for the most who will panic and create the rioting and unrests killing one another for survival while some who think they cannot do anything will just lie in wait for their time to expire.

THis is a covouluted ansewer so please hang in there with me. Every year I attend and participate in a long weekend retreat that celebrates the Elusinan mythic cycle. 300 people reeperiencing the story of Demeter, Persephonie and the dark lord. At one point the land is blighted and we all must fast for lunch. One year a group of us all gathered and shared the simple snacks that we had brought to the festival. As we sat out on the grass others joined us bringing there own crackers, cheese, fruiy, what have you untill we had a vitual feast taking care of each other. I thought that this is how Jesus must have done the bread and fishes. Inspiring the people to share. And.....I think that is what we would do in our own way....taking care as best we could of each other. Know I would.

Watch your words please. Don't you know that Religious America, UK, and the rest of the Bible-centered nations of the world are the greatest giver as recorded for long time in our worlds history? And even now they continue to be what they are? Look up Bill Gates, Donald Trump, and many others more, they give billions of dollars to foundations; the main reason America is the most powerful nation in the world.

Nope. We'd share! Right after Hurricane Katrina, the LDS Church opened all the Bishop's Storehouses in LA for the people who needed food. Usually they are for LDS people in need, but in this case they knew that the need would be present. We share and help other people as much as we are able.

I don't know, but when I get my food hoard going, I won't be. That's because I'm not just preparing for the Apocalypse, I'm preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse! Now serving buckshot, who wants some?

Why would we be afraid? I would share my food and hope that others would do the same. There is nothing wrong with being prepared for bad to happen.
