The DOL does offer a temporary restricted license that you might be eligible for. It's not a full license, but it will allow you to drive back and forth for work, medical, or educational purposes. I don't know if they would consider this for you in your present circumstances because it depends on why your license was suspended in the first place. You can try it, though.

You need to sit back and realize that YOU are driving the circumstances, not the other way around.

You need to do some serious inquiry about the way you are driving and your lifestyle. Comeon.. they don't just mail you a ticket on a regular schedule.. You get pulled over because of something you did or drove...and THEN you get the ticket and the cycle repeats.

Its not going to go away until you make a positive shift

a) STOP DRIVING.. there are soooo many alternate forms. Tough out the suspension and contact the agencies involved to find out what sort of arangements you can make to pay off the fines.

b) Look for another job. Working for rent and utilities sucks.

c) Child support... that's a nasty one. Bottom line is that Kids Come First.. and they have some heavy hammers to make sure. BUT.. they also recognize the blood from a turnip issues and will often work with you to help. Play nice they have big guns.

d) Go to court with a positive attitude and ask the judge for help. (Yeah they do that if they feel you are sincere.. BUT the caveat is that if you are just shining them on the next time you get caught they ALSO have to power to send you to jail for DWS).

The bottom line here is that you have to realize that the only way things are going to change is if YOU make those changes. Go get some comfortable shoes, a bicycle, or a bus schedule.

Good luck to you...

First, quit driving with a suspended license.
Second, pay off all the fines.
Third, catch up on your child support.

Once you have done all that, put insurance in place on your vehicle and then ask for a hearing to get your license back.

Seems to me that you need to quit driving while suspended and then you won't get any more fines that impede your ability to pay them and get your license back.

You could probably go to your local social services office and see if they can help you. I'm sure there's some program for single-parents to help them get their license back as it seems there is for everything else.

In all reality, do you need your driver's license or do you just want it. My mom didn't have her license until I was graduated from college and she did just fine with bus, taxi, bike and walking.
