Like mine, she did a brilliant job and I love her to bits, she's a best friend and a mom, gives advise, listen, a shoulder to cry on and a best mate to go shopping, gossip or have a drinks with. She knows everything about me, and I strive to be a mom to my children the way she is to me.

A mum who realises that in order for her children to grow up as caring, independent adults she needs to teach them discipline and values with both firmness and compassion.

A mum who listens as much as she talks.

A mum who supports and encourages rather than criticises and finds fault.

A mum who values and respects each child in the same way. That doesn't mean treating them all the same. For example: one child can be mature enough to do something at the age of 15 that a sibling just isn't ready for - so you need to tailor things to the individual without favouring one over the other.

I think that's the hardest part. My mum never got that bit right. She played favourites and it hurts me to this day.

to me a perfect mother would be a mother that cared and wants to know what going on in school and my life. i could talk to her about any and everything without worrying that she would tell someone or get mad. i could trust her and she'll be there for me whenever i need her. she would discepline me when i do wrong. that's a perfect mother for a fourteen year old girl

Me!

Apologies for the fillant initial response, a perfect Mum?has to be loving, but strict, understanding, forgiving, tolerant. Preferably in a supportive relationship with the father of her children, but if not, (my circumstances) with the support of family and friends. You need to have some time for yourself too! That way as the children grow you are prepared for them to spread their wings. be prepared to take a few chances, don't warp your kids in cotton wool, they'll not develop the survival skills they will need.

You need to be fun, challenge your kids, teach the to look after themselves, and to respect others.

a good mother would be loving and caring towards her children. you don't have to have lots of money to be a good parent. money isn't everything. theres no such thing as a 'perfect parent' , so don't worry if you make mistakes, everyone else does as well.
