Historically, one specific incident of too much immigration was when Mexico opened up what is now Texas to American immigration. The territory was flooded (compared to the number of Mexicans) by Americans which caused domestic problems and eventually provided impetus for Texas to break away from Mexico, forming the Republic of Texas, which later joined the US.

When you have too much immigration, the culture of the country changes. If the citizens want to maintain the current culture: economically, socially, educationally and on every different level, immigration must be slow enough so that those coming in have time to assimilate.

It's aready a proven to be a fact; just look at the marches that took place last week. Many of them were recent immigrants and their families.

how can you put a limit on the number of ppl in the us?
Most "Mexicans" so to say aren't here to stay and aren't planning on buying houses. They just come do the crap jobs for a while and save the money and go home....whats wrong with that especially if they have a passport?

In terms of economics, yes. Too much demand from them will push prices high, make resources appear scarcer. Too much supply of them will mean more unemployment.
