1. Thou shalt smile at least once a day even if there is seemingly nothing to smile about.
2. Thou shalt accept that not everyone is going to think the same way as you and stop trying to shove your religion down their throat.
3.Recognize that AEROSMITH is God (inside joke if you don't get that one sorry.)
4.Thou shalt watch *HEROES* every Monday at 9 p.m.
5.Thou shalt never say "thou shalt" ever again because it becomes a pain in the butt.
6.You must eat McDonalds for breakfast at *least* once a week (every day if you want to score some afterlife points [hash browns!!!])
7.Yahoo! Answers must put a numbers/bullets icon at the top of the questions and answers box, because typing out the numbers every time is irksome.
8.Children should not be indoctrinated under any religion and should make their own choices about spirituality when they deem themselves ready to do so.
9.You will listen to at *least* four or five Nine Inch Nails songs a day (again, more = afterlife points [this is possibly one of the most important despite being near the end of the list]).
10. Oh, and don't hurt people . . . that's not cool.

Not to avoid your question but, I think if you look at certain people you will see they have made up their own commandments. I am kind of fond of the Commandments have have now!
1. I will be as selfish as I want
2. People need to live their lives around me
3. Pregnant women can decide if the baby isn't born when they are ready they will just kill it.
4. If it's not conveinant for me...oh well to other people.
5. It's ok to lie
6. It's ok to steal.
7. I don't believe in God. And neither should you.
8. If my marriage doesn't work out and it's hard, I'll just get a divorce.
9. I'll only go to church when I need God to get me out of a bad mess.
10. It's ok to disrespect your parents, and do what you want.

1) Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2) Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3) When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there, and when walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.
4) If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
5) Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
6) Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
7) Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
8) Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9) Do not harm little children.
10) Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.

I know this is an honest question on your part and right away I thought of something to say - then I ask myself why should I want to make-up my own 10 commandments? When God had established it for christians to abide by. Thank God for the Holy Spirit who will help us in the studying of His word (the whole bible does not consist only on the 10 commandments). But I must say this is a no-harm-question to you - think on this particular scripture in the bible: Rev. 22:18-19 (18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall ADD unto these things, God shall ADD unto him the plagues that are written in this book: (19) And if any man shall TAKE away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall TAKE away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The Ten Commandments give or take a few have been expressed in all religions of the world and they are essentially always the same. I guess I don't believe I could improve them much except I would add "Thou shall have tolerance of all the world inhabitants."

1. Don't prosyletize or preach to a person who is not in the same religion as you.
2.Treat people as they treat you, not as you would like them to treat you.
3.If someone smites you on the one cheek, smash him on his other one.
4. Always question everything about religion.
5. Think for yourself.
So, I would have only 5 commandments I guess...

I believe mine would pretty much go along with what is already there. If everyone would follow the 10 commandments we have now, we wouldn't need/want to make new ones.
