I was just braiding my friend's hair. She is 20 years old. She has a bald spot on each side of her head. What is wrong, why won't any hair grow there, and how can she fix it?

it may be damaged from the roots and the hair won't want to grow. she may want to stop putting pressure and stress there for a while and see if that helps. if it is not hereditary she may want to see a doctor. chances are hair may never grow their again and that can lead to the possibility of a hair transplant.

Once I found a bald spot in leg of my cat and run to the vet and didnt tell him anything just said can you check him. I was worried if I point out to the problem he asks for many tests! as soon as he saw the bald spot vet said oh he hit his leg to somewhere, it will come back. Your cat might hit his head somewhere, or he is having skin disease.I dont know about skin disease in cats.

Sorry if this causes alarm, but it could be anything from diet, to stress, to Thyroid disease, to cancer. Tell her to see her general practitioner.

That's where her ears go, it's normal not to have hair there.
