Do I have to give medications to the children? I live in Ct. If the children are on some kind of medication, do I have to be licensed for that or is that part of my FirstAid license? Sorry, but I did the First Aid class like a year and a half ago and forgotten whether my license makes it so I could give out meds. Also, what is the pay rate per child? I tried calling local family daycares to find out, but no luck. Thanks so much.

dont know about the meds thing..... but for how much per child... i went to a few daycare places.. ones that r out of the home were at the cheapest 175/week up too 250/week per child... but if u had 2 kids it wasnt the full rate for the second i think they gave a 50-75 dollar discount for siblings... but for home daycare ive heard the most is 150/week i pay 125 a week for my 3 year old that doesnt include meals though

My mom had in home daycare for years. If you go by getting a license- they will sure tell you all the rules. If you don't go that way then it's up to and the parent. Have them sign some kind of written agreement (maybe have it notarized) if you choose that route. As for what you charge- find out what near by daycares are charging and then go lower (at first- to get you some business).
