My car was hit by another car in my apartment parking lot. She admited her fault and told she will pay all damage( apx. $3000). I got her address, phone #, drivers' # and plate #, but not insurance info.
I went to the police for reporting the accident because she didn't take any action. The police warned her to report, but she didn't. Therefore, they charged her for hit and run and started the investigation. She seems ignoring anything about the accidnet .
I am worry about what happen if she keeps ignoring the police. I'm wondering what the next process is. What can I do now?

Your best bet is to file a claim with your insurance company. If you have collision coverage, go ahead and pursue that, yes you will be responsible for your deductible NOW, however your insurance company will go after the at fault party. If she refuses to respond to your insurance companies request for insurance info, then they will send her to collections, which I'm sure will make her provide that insruance information quickly.

The only other outlet you have - since you have her name, address and phone number, and a police report investigating a hit and run - is to file a small claims court lawsuit - and have her served - if she refuses to show up - you will get a default judgement - again would affect her credit - so i'm sure she will not just "let it go."

Good luck.

The police can arrest her for hit and run. I would have your insurance company do the claim and make them understand she prefers to not cooperate. Your insurance company will handle your side of the claim, it sounds like your doing everything correct. The courts will force her to pay for it but your company will get your car fixed Her insurance company will not pay for a hit and run if she did not report it to them. She sounds pretty stupid, in a car accident you should always cooperate and get the police involved. It is on private property so they may of just had you exchange information.

If the police are investigating they should have insurance information on her by now. Ask them if they have anything.

If they don't, you can always file on your own insurance, though I'd save that as a last resort. After all, you don't want to end up paying for something that you didn't do.

File a police report and tell your insurance company that they didn't have insurance. The police and the insurance company will handle the rest if you give them that person's information that you have.

There's not much you can do and definately file the report since they don't have insurance.

This is why YOU have insurance. They will do this for you. Why haven't you simply notified them, give them the details and the other driver's info. That's what you pay them for.

She can't hide forever. You will eventually get the info you seek.
