Yesterday my doctor performed a colonoscopy on me, and afterwards I was told that I have Divertuculosis, what exactly is that? Also, he wants to see me in one week, do you know maybe why he would want to do this? Is it normally to put me on a special diet or to talk about surgery? Also, I have been taking my Hydrocodone pain pill, and it seems to give me pain in my very center of my stomach, is this normal?

Diverticulosis means that part of your bowels developed little pouches. If you are constipated, this can get worse and to the point that it can perforate or get infected ( diverticulitis). that's why he said you need to be on a diet. Also, hydrocodone will make you constipated, so it may give you more complications. If at all try to switch your pain pill to a non-opioid one.

You will have to really watch your diet, make sure you do not get constipated and I find the best 'prunes'. Good luck but please listen or take notes when you see the Doc.
