i have a 2005 Rock Shox Reba Team, when i was installing it on my bike, i miscalculated the length of steerer tube and cut it too short. i have a 15mm spacer on it now and i want it a little higher but i cant because its too short. is there any way to get a longer one? can i send it to rock shox to replace it?

its installed and works fine, but i would like it about 10mm higher. no big deal if i cant get a longer one.

Negative. Unfortunately steerer tubes cannot be replaced. You may be able to buy a new crown assembly, but it won't be cheap. Sorry man.

Old Marzocchi xc forks had two bolts holding the steer tube to the crown, and you could buy different sizes and threaded or threadless tubes from marzocchi. They dont do that anymore. I've never seen a rock shock with a removable steer tube, but there are several parts I've not seen. If it is removable it will have bolts on the crown next to the tube.

Now if you look on ebay, you can find People selling crown-tube combos. You would just have to disconnect your stantions, and put a new crown on.

you won't be in a position to alter the steerer tube, whether you may desire to conceivably substitute each and every little thing above the stanchion on a fork to get the effect. it truly is especially lots pointless although. you're unlikely to get any substantial distinction truly surely worth the investment and attempt. you're better off upgrading to the fork of your objectives once you're arranged.

Have you thought about a stem with a higher rise angle? It would accomplish the same goal - moving the bars higher.

yea, its not cheap from what i hear, if i remember right though u can send it back to RS to get a new one put on but like i said it could be pricey. when i cut mine i made two cuts just to make sure i wasnt taking too much. btw a tube cutter works great for these applications.
