How long ago..maybe they just have not discovered it yet..took close to 3 weeks before the birds started seeing my balcony as a food source..and that my cats were NOT a threat! Keep it up..when one finds it..the rest will come, also helps if you put a bird bath up, water is needed year round but especially clean water is loved when it is hot out..may also help you!

Hi there. The type of seed may not be what the native birds desire. Research what birds live in your area. They may need more time to discover your balcony. Try using a bird feeder at a distance and slowly move it closer once a week. Birds need to feel safe to eat the food. Have a nice day.

birds may need some time to check out if your place feels safe. they usually like trees and shrubs close by... if there aren't any, it will take longer for the birds to see the grain.... they will come in the end, but having trees nearby is a pre. if you have trees but still no birds, check if your windows are very reflective.. that scares them. check also there is not a cat nearby... can keep them away for hours .... all those kind of things...

too much commotion, possibly a cat in the area and the birds are scared. You may be too high or too low. are there any trees around? If so maybe put some seed in the tree nearby and draw them closer and closer to you.

It depends on how long you have had that out there, a week? It might be the quality and type of feed. Some birds that are local to you might not like what you have in your feeder. Look at the birds, what are they? Look them up and see what they normally like to eat.

I saw the other day at a local store where you can get a bird feeder that has suction cups and can stick to the window. Just a suggestion.

Avian flu?
Also --- the birds really don't like to get their seed off flat surfaces that can affect the flavor of the seed, or that could have standing water that can get moldy.
Of course, it could be that there's a better deal next door.
