I think so, I remember someone bring them to a potluck to work like that. I am assumeing you are talking about like Costco type meatballs. They have a very thick consisteny and probably will not fall apart. Since they are already precooked you just need to heat them. They are pretty tasty in a warm bbq type sauce.

Yes. Actually, I made a dish for a bridal shower with frozen meatballs and little smokies. Put a little bbq sauce, some A1 and water. Let cook in the crock pot for a few hours.
They didn't fall apart...I think frozen are better for this than fresh anyway.

Yes. When you do add them last maybe 30 to 40 minutes before your entire dish is done in the crock pot.

My mom does this all the time - does a sweet and sour meatball dish that she makes with frozen meatballs, and she does it in her crockpot. They are always the hit of the party! (take the meatballs, add a bottle of sweet and sour sauce, dump in a can of chunked pineapple, and simmer away!)

the meatballs you are talking about is `1 jar mild chili sauce and 1 small jar grape jelly. I use to make these when my daughter was in school, but have not made them in years. No cranberry sauce is not the correct sauce; however, I believe I will try using cranberry sauce and jelly.

I see this done at parties all the time. They're usually floating in some sauce or another with a box of toothpicks to serve ones self.

Definitely! My husband uses those to make his Swedish meatballs in the crockpot. He makes the sauce first, then tosses them in a couple hours before we're ready to eat them. They're always perfectly intact. (Unlike when I try to make homemade meatballs...)

Yeah, I do it all the time, I always brown them first though (even though they are already cooked, I roll them around in a hot frying pan for a few minutes first) that helps keep them from getting mushy. I love the recipe with equal parts grape jelly and chile sauce, ohhh they are so goooood!

I would say bake them first, this will give them a nice browned taste on the outside and will prevent them from getting squishy in the crockpot.

I have done this many times without any problem. Just start it on low, not high.
