The problem is not because he does not care, it is that you both do not know how to communicate to each other without preventing hateful words and anger of getting in the way. I feel there is a bit of a competition between the both of you which is healthy if not carried too far. You need to find a way to tell him of how you wish to be able to give your own opinion when deciding on things whether your opinions are right or wrong. He needs to understand this and not take it offensively. You might start by not using words such as, "you always", You never", and instead use words such as, "I feel", "I need your understanding". Your approach must not sound as if you are attacking him or he will attack back. Next time you might want to say to him, "honey, your idea sounds good, what do you think of mine?"....I feel he did not mean to sound disrespectful and only responded that way because he felt attacked. I do hope you both will be able to work it out.
