do you want a portrait style tattoo or do you want an artists interpretation of jim morrison? if you're into artsy stuff an andy warhol style jim would be really cool. i love thigh tattoos, but like larger ones. where do you live? i'd be happy to help you find the right artist for the tattoo you want. definitely the success of the tattoo will depend on the artist you get to do it.

depends on where you're at....my artist is known around the world for portraits (no it's not Miami Ink).... www.daweitattoo.com - go into the portrait section....it's a back tattoo though re: location.

He has done a portrait of Jim morrison but alot of artists have as well. You might want to go to the tattoo studios in your area and go check out their work and check out their portraits. I would make sure that the person you go to does portraits well...if they do, it will prob be in their portfolios....

From what I have seen (I'm a member of several tattoo forums and subscribe to UK tattoo magazines) it is VERY difficult for an artist to pull off a convincing and artistically correct portrait. they are notoriously hard to do and you could be left with a freaky image on your body if you don't pick the right artist. Please take your time and do your homework to pick the right tattooist. Go for someone who specialises in portraits and has portraits in their portfolio. if you take your time over this you could have the most amazing tattoo.

For ideas go to bmezine and search on 'morrison' or 'portrait', good luck! unfortunately I can't recommend anyone poersonally!

As for placement, I have a tattoo at the top of my thigh, makes it easy for you to look at and if the tattoo is for your own personal enjoyment (which is realy what they should all be for!) then its a great location!

Jim Morrison's head in a jar of pickles would look pretty interesting.
