What adds extra hilarity to the claim is not that out of all of the possible places it is here we would have the "true religion" but that the very records of these "true religions" show them to be from fallible men. Not one religion comes directly from an infallible being but through third and fourth hand stories about a guy who talked to an infallible being. Not even the words of Christ himself are direct but recorded a minimum of 60 years after his death. Not even his contemporaries could be bothered to write his story. True religion my @$$...

No, every religion believes that their religion is the one true religion. I think the humans are the only intelligent life in the universe. The bible does not say anything about life on other planets so I think Christianity leaves the possibility open.

"Christians, isn't it arrogant to believe that your religion is the true one? To believe that your religion, is THE religion. To believe that in all the planets, in all the universe, that your religion is the true one......isn't that a bit arrogant?"
I'm trying to think of a Christian that I may have met who had the demeanor of making Christianity true because of some testosterone filled 'sportsman style' fanaticism. And you know what? I think that they exist! I can't fault them for that because these people are hot for their religion, where it can come into a problem is when they become overbearing to those that will never desire to follow after Christ.
What I thikn that you are unaware of is tht the Christian will not point ot themselves as being right, but point of Jesus Christ as being the center of their world. If we preached ourselves, then you would be absolutely right and we would be sorrowfully wrong. However since we point to a written source outside of ourselves, a written source that we use to correct ourselves with, then perhaps you could look at the written source (The Bible) and make your assessment as to the validity of what we are saying from that perspective.
I am not try to put blame on the Bible for the way Christians seem to you, but as long as you see that the Christians are 'arrogant' for believing that they are right on a basis of 'The Odds' would make it seem unlikely (in all the planets, in all the universe) , we have pointed to a book and a spiritual center: God. I think that to be fair you might consider seeing that they are deriving what they believe form those two sources ( Bible and God) and not making it up themselves.

Abby C,
EVERYONE believes their view is the correct one. Even if that view is that everyone is entitled to their own view or that no one is correct.
When it comes to religious views, of course whatever one you believe is the correct one. Otherwise, you'd believe something different. It just stands to reason.
Do I think humans are the only intelligent life in the universe? yes. Until I see proof otherwise. I'm not saying I don't think there is life elsewhere, just the intelligence. I believe intelligence of the level we have is a gift from God.
In the abstract: Sure, I suppose God could have intelligent life on other planets. If so, I'm sure that he has communicated to them in some way. Would it be the exact same way? probably not. The way God has revealed information to us has been based on our actions and beliefs. Another planet would have had a different history of acception/rejection of God. Therefore, his reaction would be different, wouldn't it?
But as a side note to your question about sending Jesus to their planet: There was an old black and white sci fi movie where some scientists invented some device that they communicated with another planet. At one point, they asked how the other planet had not destroyed themselves with the nuclear (or whatever it was) power they used for energy. The reaction was basically: don't you know about Jesus or God (I'm sorry I forget the exact terminology). The idea was that this planet was peaceful thanks to the full acceptance of (whatever's) word of peace. It was an interesting movie - or at least that one small aspect.
ANd jesse B - no, a thumbs down (from me at least) indicates instead of trying to intelligently talk about an issue, you are using attack methods or insulting statements. And if you give me a thumbs down that means you beat up monkeys with electric cattle prods. :-P

[my response]
If you did not believe it was the true one, why would you believe it at all? To believe all religions are equally true, but the truth is it's relativism and contradicts basic logic.
[you asked]
Do you think humans are the only intelligent life in the universe?
[my response]
Yes - I know that we are the only intelligent life in the universe (outside spiritual beings, like angels and demons), because that is what the Bible tells us. Fifty years ago people were hoping that there was going to be life with in our solar system. They were wrong. This is not a Star-trek fantasy, there is no other intelligent life in the universe.

i become raised Roman Catholic...yet am convalescing. i realized early on that the coolest judgment basically would not exercising consultation. particular i recognize the Bible the front to back and that i have heard the parables and teachings..blah blah. What I have taken faraway from the study of Catholicism and many of the different major religions is that any faith often is the "ideal" faith for YOU. all of it comes right down to what's on your heart. i believe this is the attempt. If we may be able to as people locate the sturdy in all issues, forgive those who damage us, and take care of others as we would opt to be dealt with, then we are able to locate happiness. in case you'll come across happiness on earth and help others to do an same, who cares what faith you're or maybe in the adventure that your idea of salvation is nice...ideal? My suggestion is to maintain asking a lot of those questions. i imagine this is major to to understand WHY each and every faith exists, the way it got here about, and WHAT that's for. in case you look heavily, the underlying concepts proceed to be an same throughout. I by no ability criticize with out being armed with information, so study up on your religions and locate some peoples of diverse faiths who're open minded to communication and communicate with them. be careful although. at the same time as politics or faith are in contact, thoughts run intense and individuals right away get close minded. sturdy success. -Stretch

What you view as arrogance, we know as confidence.
There is only one God, the Creator of all things, including the universe. We do not "worship" Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit as separate entities.... they are all one. Simply put, they are aspects or ways God has revealed Himself to mankind.
Life elsewhere in the universe? The probability is high, but as yet unseen and unknown. God only knows. What we do know is that God made a way for us to know Him. That way is exclusively through His son, Jesus. There simply is no other way. Many Christians have investigated other beliefs and philosophies, and find this, at least on this planet, to be true.

As far as me, I dont do religion. I became a believer in christ when I actually found the truth in the bible. Has nothing to do with being arrogant, we just simply have the know the truth and would like to share it with whoever is willing to hear. And yes, we are the only intelligent life in this universe.

It's not arrogant, it's faith. Just because I have a strong faith in Jesus and GOD, doesnt mean I am arrogant. If I didnt believe it to be true, then it wouldn't be faith, now would it?
I have no idea about what's going on on other planets. But, I believe anything is possible under the realm of GOD

Basically, it comes to this - someone is right. Not all religions can be true - only one. This is because all religions are mutually exclusive. One cannot be a Buddhist and a Muslim at the same time. Likewise, one cannot be Catholic and Jewish. Christians just have the Truth to back them up!

Hmmm....so many religions tied in a neat little package. Where do start? Yes, I believe the Word of GOD can be throughout the universe. Who are we to think that with this great beautiful universe that GOD would choose only one of His planets to bring forth life. Not a Jesus, but His Son.
