02 jetta vr6 the speedometer stopped its dead. my epc air bag brake engein lights are on?

the gas meter goes empty when i turn from i guess all the gas going to one side of the tank, but it had never don that before.

This sounds like a ground wire has come loose from under the dash panel. Have an auto electrician trace it down and fix it.
