To everyone crying "The fix is in!" How do you know? I admit the thought did cross my mind but more likely is that the HBO PPV announcers and crowd made it seem a closer fight than what it actually was. I am a De La Hoya fan and Mayweather admirer (of his skill alone) and in looking at this fight objectively, Mayweather won and it wasn't that close. Max Kellerman commented that he thought Mayweather should have won by 6 pts and he is very knowledgeable. Another writer in USA Today asked if the judge who scored for De La Hoya and who wrote some book on how to score a boxing match, indeed, had actually read the book LOL. That was classic. In all honesty, Oscar waited and waited, didn't utilize the jab enough, and basically looked like a 34 year old man chasing a 30 year old fighter in his prime although at his age, it could be time for Mayweather to begin that decline. I wonder though. He is always in excellent condition, has never been in a real phonebooth warfare type of fight, lives clean (aside from his junk food diet LOL), and reminds me of another old school fighter Bernard Hopkins. BHop who is 43 yrs old I believe, is fighting Winky Wright in July! Some guys are just throwbacks to other eras and I think Mayweather, De La Hoya and Hopkins all belong in that group. Sorry to deviate from the original question. Mayweather won clearly and it was not as close as the scorecards indicated.

De La Hoya won hands down. Mayweather is a Hack who stole the fight from Oscar thats right he stole the fight clearly everyone saw that Oscar won and the Even Floyd knew he lost but you know that boxing needs a poster child right now and unfortunately Floyd is that poster child I mean come on he doesnt have the flash that Roy jones jr had in his prime and he talks way too mush I think he is doing boxing a favor by retiring cause I sure as hell dont want to see him ruin the sport anymore

I thought Mayweather won the fight because he was quicker to De la Hoya but it was a close fight.

look lower back by using my solutions the final few days. I stated because it only approximately precisely the way it befell. I pronounced unanimous determination and it became a chop up... which leads me to ask, what the Hell damn combat became decide Tom Kaczmarek observing? He might desire to be fired. Mayweather masterfully took De la Hoya aside. De la Hoya strikes up in weight, gets whooped by using Hopkins, then he strikes down in weight, combating a guy who isn't even super sufficient to combat at Jr. Mid... and nevertheless gets whooped. Why is this guy combating? Why does De la Hoya have any followers? How might desire to every person even JOKINGLY say De la Hoya gained? How does Tom Kaczmarek get to be a decide because of the fact he appartently do no longer understand #&*%? Oh properly, it became a exciting combat to observe, to all of the Mayweather haters, now you're compelled to confess he's the ideal boxer available appropriate now. The dude talks trash, although that's now no longer trash after he proves he can lower back it up. i wish you're loving it, because of the fact i'm.

Anyone who says that Oscar won..must be a family member. As a boxer you can't win a fight on the last minute of every round. Its true that Mayweather didn't didn't do as well as we all thought , he did land more punches ,at which point won him the fight. To let people know just cause you swing a lot and make the crowd go crazy doesn't mean you'll win...Oscar is washed up,he looked old .

Clearly the build-up was too much and we all bought into it, tho i watched it at a friend's house, as the rounds past I was glad I didnt not pay to untimately be disappointed. The match should have ended in a draw to make the fans want more. Mayweather talked alot and not once lived up to it, instead Oscar is the one that made the fight, he attacked tho he missed on alot of punches, Mayweather just sat back, was technical, and was unsuccessful and wearing Oscar down to at the very least knock him down. A pound for pound fighter lives up to the hype, he doesnt have to rely on judges to bail him out by just 2 points. In the end Oscar will take his $45 million and made another album, Mayweather will take his title and chump change and speak to his dad, whom resembles Predator, and in the end boxing will lose, cuz UFC just won over another fan.

This fight was a dissapointment to me in many ways. The decision, the fight itself and the reaction that I'm hearing from fans. I'm an ODLH fan and I had it as a draw. I believe that to beat the champ you need to BEAT the champ. That goes for any sport. Especially one in which you have to depend on judges for decisions. I thought the fight itself was pretty lackluster. One good punch here and there with too much running. For two fighters who were talking like they hated each other, there was very little action to get excited about. Also, I've heard and read about people saying that PBFM put on a clinic. Let me tell you... if that was a great boxing performance then I will never watch boxing again. I hate to say it, but the sport that I once loved has gone down the chute. This isn't what I fell in love with.
