I was paddled in school. I spank my children when needed. But i don't use anything but my hand. I think they should bring the paddle back into schools. because kids these days are spoiled little brats and could use some good corporal punishment. Anyone who says they think it's wrong to spank children and you should learn more patience with them, are push overs, and their children will probably end up in jail, or with an OCD...or a cutter.

I think in general spanking should not happen in school however I do believe kids are WAY out of control these day and teachers should perhaps have an ACTUAL way to gt through to a kid and teach them. However i believe if parents would more often then not start actually disciplining there kid at home and stop being their friend and worry about them hating them for LOVING THEM then spanking wouldn't be necessary in school. IF the kid was disciplined at home they would know to be good at school cause if the parents found out they were bad at school they'd get a spanking at home. I personally think that spanking should only be done by a parent because spanking is a harsher punishment and is suppose to teach them a lesson NOT scare them or hurt them into behaving. They would become fearful of a teacher not respect the teacher because they are only a teacher...they don't love the child they are just spanking cause the kid is disrupting....well its just plain hurts them and scares the kid...when a parent spanks then its done out of love and there is an explanation and a whole thing...at least when done correctly. A spanking at school is mean and cruel and cold but a spanking at home CAN be loving and caring with the kids best interest in mind...NOT REVENGE or a power trip.

I wasn't around when spanking was allowed in schools but I did go to catholic schools where you had the nuns and were respectful to them.
My father told me stories all the time about how he used to get the paddle in school and also from other parents on the street they lived.
I think there is a difference between spanking and abuse. I think that if they could, they should go back to the days when you could get the paddle. I think that since those days children have been getting worse and worse. There were no mass murders in schools before. This is crazy.
Children have nothing to fear anymore! They do what they want when they want! I have heard children tell their parents 'What are you gonna do? If you touch me I'll call the cops!" There is no discipline left in this world anymore and I think that is a problem.
I am not saying it is a good idea to beat your kids. I just think that since you are 'not allowed' to anymore society and it's children have become worse.

Against it all the way. Yes I believe children need discipline and that is fine but no one and I mean no one inside or outside of a school system will lay a hand on my child. The minute they do is the minute they find out what it's like to really get hit because I will not think twice when it comes to protecting children. A child shouldn't be disciplined with a spanking by anyone other than a parent, it isn't anyone's right to hit someone else's child. Now if my children do something so bad at school they need a spanking, call me, I will do it in an orderly fashion but not an abusive way, the school will know that my children got in trouble but the trouble will be done by me no one else.

I am against spanking both at school and at home, however I am not a mum yet, so I don´t know what it is like to have your kids driving your crazy...HOWEVER I am a nursery teacher and sometimes had the responsibility of 21 2-year-olds and some very stressful situations, but I have NEVER hit a child in any way, not even a tap on the fingers...I don´t believe in it an don´t think it works, I use time-outs and they work with 99% of the children, even when only 2 years-old...

no one is spanking my children but me and their father. Who's to say the school is spanking them for things they deserved to be spanked over. I went to school in Pecos, Texas for 1 month and they spanked over there.. each teacher had a paddle with holes sitting right on her black board and I made it clear , if they spank me.. someone's going to jail . I dont believe anyone else has the right to spank a child unless they are that childs parent.

NNNOOOOO!!! i might under no circumstances enable every physique hit my toddler. it is my interest to be certain if/while a spanking is needed. i'm against spanking for the main area. some young ones extremely do choose it yet not via every physique different than their father and mom. via fourth grade a toddler is sufficiently previous to understand different varieties of self-discipline. At this factor spanking could be a final hotel and on condition that your son would not respond to the rest. Even nonetheless you and his father may be the only ones to do it, no be counted if it is in certainty needed.

I think kids should be spanked in elementary school, but not in high school.. it would benefit the whole country if children were more disciplined in schools.. there would be less crime because kids who respect authority would grow into adults who respect authority.. of course there would still be some crime, but it would definitely help if kids were spanked in elementary school..

I'm for it because the children now a days in schools talk back to their teachers, spend too much time socializing with the opposite sex, don't do their homework, goof off in class, etc. Back when you could beat your child with a whip or a paddle or a ruler in school children were more behaved and respected their parents and teachers and elders. If you got beat in school then you knew you'd be taken out back to the woodshed when you got home from school and flogged with a whip for acting up in school. They also need to stick God back in schools. The USA is now a Godless nation and getting worse every day. There is nothing wrong with prayer. If you don't want to pray that is fine but every religion should be allowed to practice their religion in school not just Christians.
