I am neither even sure if I wrote that expression without misspellings nor what language that is but one thing I am sure of: the governor of Carlifonia said it in one of his robot-simulation-movies.

"hasta" means "until"
"la" is an article, like "a", "an," "the"
"vista" means "seeing" or "sight"

"Hasta la vista" would literally be "until the (next) sight (of you)", or simply, "until I see you again."

Colloquially, yes, it's "see you later!"

Hasta la vista literally means "until I see you again"...."See you later" or "See you around" would be a good equivalent.
Ahhhh yes...Robocop. "Hasta la vista, baby."
Funnier yet, coming out of the mouth of an Austrian actor who was once an Olympic weight-lifter.

Well, as you said, it means that there is a little mistake. It should be: "Hasta la vista".
It is similar to "au revoir" or "auf wiedersehen"
