Good morning....I get my colander and place my veggies into the colander and rinse them with cold water. Now with fresh greens I place them in salted cold water in case there is any bugs in the leaves or bacteria. Salt is a natural antibiotic and cleanser. Hope this has helped. Have a great day!

Depends on the vegetable. Are you talking fresh or prepared? If it's potatoes, and I'm going to bake them in their skins, I'll scrub them with a net sponge before baking them. If it's cabbage that I'm going to chop up to go into a stew, I'll rinse it well and strip off the bad leaves.

If it's something to go into a salad, say cucumbers, I'll rinse them well under running water and peel before cutting them. Tomatoes get the same treatment, but I don't peel them.

Put it under cold water and run your fingers up and down it and then you can get a little sponge and don't use soap lol. Just wash it lightly.

PS> warm water can cause the growth pf bacterias and stuff

I run them under the cold water tap and then either wipe them down with disposable kitchen paper or lie the more delicate vegies on the paper to dry. This is so they are not slippery when cutting them up.

Rinse them off with cold water in the kitchen sink. I thought that was the only way.

However... I have seen Rachael Ray wipe her celery off with a dry towel. I thought that was strange.

Most of the time I just rub them under cold water with my hands. But things like leeks, I cut them up and swish them in cold water and let them sit to let the sand settle.

I buy the fruit/veggie wash in the produce department. It gets them so much cleaner than just water alone.

Peel it, wash it in the clean sink, cut it up, eat it. Sometimes cook it too!
