The would get respect from some people. Maybe not from the ones they are ridiculing.

To me that depends upon the point of view of the other person. It might be so outrageous that it needs to be ridiculed.
In general though, no I don't think that one can get respect by ridiculing anothers legitimate point of view. One needs to be able to state their own case without putting down someone else.

No. That only shows they are an ahole. They may get publicity or attention by it, but respect comes from having a valid counterpoint. One can point out the fallacy of a point of view but never ridicule.

Of course not. The more you ridicule someone else's point of view the less likely they are to listen to what you have to say. They are just going to shut down and not listen. That is basic human nature. It has nothing to do with religion, it is just the way we are programed in any discussion.

NO. We get respect only by respecting others. No point of anyone should ever be ridiculed, because that may unnecessary hurt the person.

Ridiculing some one's view point cannot impose your own view pooint over others. Instead, it would restrain others to understand your viewpoint.

I really just come here for laughs. With some of the ridiculous stuff you hear, you can't help but poke fun at it.

no. one who must ridicule another, has nothing to stand on in the first place, that is why they ridicule others, jealousy.
