They don't grow taller... they just have less weight bearing down on their bones and joints and this allows them to stand at their original height.

Speaking from experience... they don't grow taller, they just suddenly find themselves with a ton more self-confidence and stand straighter, which gives the impression they are taller!

I've lost 45lbs and I swear, I feel like I am a whole foot taller! I have so much more self-confidence and I walk tall :)

Generally it'd be a perception thing. They just seem taller because they aren't as wide anymore. Though they might be able to stand up straighter, which would give them more height since they aren't hunched over.

Don't think they actually GROW taller
probably just APPEAR to be taller and leaner.
