416.01 is 416 feet and 0 and one-eight inches

not sure of your question, is it all in 416+/- or sometimes, the site shots will be starting at 100 and only one shot will be tied to the datum of 416

to get elevation dif, you would need to subtract the other number from this

a positive elevation means that spot is lower
a negative number means it is higher

change the decimal part of the value to inches by mutilplying by 12 to get .12 inches or approximately 1/8 inch.

whoa, check out one thing. if the elevation bench mark was set by the highway department, it may be in meters not feet. here in Wyoming, all highway surveying is metric.
