I was offered a job in california to do door to door sales. Its sounds great and they say you make on average 20,000 dollars!!! This sounds way to good to be true. Has anyone dealt with this company or know anyone that has done this job before. Its a door to door sales job that sells home security systems, sounds to good to be true ik thats what i thought. Well if anyone has done it before let me know k thx.

Btw it is only a summer job, and yes it is only off based only on comission.

$20,000 a year? That's about $9.60 an hour, and that's probably straight commission.
If the company treats you as an independent contractor, you may get no benefits and will have to pay both sides of your SS and Medicare taxes.
Better keep looking.

I agree with Scott.
California...the price of living there, your salary will not even cover it....
Do not know where you live now, however if 20,000.00
sounds that great to you...I can only think you are living with your parents or someone....Don't get me wrong..nothing is wrong with that. The minimum wage here is 7.85 cents a hour.
Good for young people starting out. But to live by yourself,
have housing, medical Insurance ( which you will NOT have
selling door to door) food, gas, clothing..and your shoes....
Not a good idea...not at that salary, in my opinion
