If the stenosis becomes narrow enough it can cause a stroke. Then the damage to the left side of the brain will affect the right side of the body.

I believe the question was... If there is a stenosis of the right carotid can it affect the left carotid . The answer would be no. The AORTA is the major artery carrying oxygenated blood from the heart upwards towards the head. The two carotids ( left and right ) branch off of the aorta. A blockage in either of the carotids will starve the brain of blood and a stroke occurs. Normally "clot busting" drugs are given to dissolve the clot to minimize damage to the brain. If the left side of the brain is damaged, the right side of the body is affected. If the right side of the brain is damaged, the left side of the body is affected.

Not sure what you are saying..spelling is wrong? Is carotid artery blocked or partially blocked? Then you should consider surgery to unblock it. It has nothing to do with a stroke...except for the fact that it can cause a blockage of blood and oxygen to the brain and maybe cause a stroke of sorts that way with brain damage. Get it attended to ASAP.Any questions...ask the surgeon...
