Sometimes I had problems shutting my mouth. Made life a little harder. How about you?

Eleventy, I was sometimes like you. Sometimes painfully shy. Sometimes I'd get into trouble for saying I'm an atheist when people asked what my religion was. That's a pretty quick way to isolate yourself from everybody.

It didn't help that I spent part of my childhood at a Catholic school. Total Isolation.

I was painfully shy.

[edit] Ah, so true. I remember telling friends at school. I'd never seen them so horrified. It was like I told them I was a serial killer.

All-American type. Lived in the country with both parents. Went to church about every week. Got great grades. Played in the High School band.

Then I lost my faith and decided to sing heavy metal for a living. Finally got sick of that and went to the university. Now I am back to about like my parents except the church part.

Wonderful childhood in the country. Always outside exploring. I also loved taking apart my toys to see how they worked. Above average in grade school, then once I got to high school, I saw how the school ran. They only paid attention to the jocks and cheerleaders, so I dropped out and got my G.E.D. before any of my classmates graduated.

Very strict parents. High achiever. Very popular in school- but my morality was only 'because of my parents control'. Once out of it I got pregnant as a teen. I drank and partied and smoked. I became a born again as an adult and pray my parents would be delivered now...

Looking back I was very precocious and involved in things at a young age that I shouldn't have been. I believe most of my problems in adult life stem from childhood experiences.

Compared to children on a global scale I probably have no reason or right to complain given that I was born into a very liberal, prosperous, western society.
