For most people HPV goes away on it's own. Their bodies are basically able to "fight off" the virus. There is technically no cure though because it doesn't go away with medication or treatment.
And, just because a person might get rid of the virus, doesn't mean they can't contract it again. They can always get the virus again.

HPV, Human Papilloma Virus or genital warts, does not go away- it always stays in your body's cells, even if you do not see any warts, or it appears to have gone away. You should see a doctor to be sure, and always use protection, as you can pass it along to any partner unknowingly. It can also be a precursor for cervical infection or even cervical cancer in females, so care by a physican is extremely pertinent.

in some people if left untreated HPV is "healed" by their immune system, but certainly if you suspect you might have this very very common virus, thats not a smart way of dealing with it. because HPV in women can very often lead to cervical cancer if gone untreated. it is a very treatable STD and theres no sense in just hoping it goes away
