when my cousin was a small child she got TB from her mother..
The mother is no loner living..
my cousin's left kidney was removed when she was a small child...
Now she is an adult and does not have TB, however now her right kidney was beginning to give her problems that caused her to stay in the hospital for one week...Her Doctor said her kidney is weakening..that it is not pumping normally...
Does this mean she also has chronic Pylonephritis?(Kidney Diease)

I would greatly appreciate some information regarding my e-mail ...Thank You so much!

......M.

Yes, the TB and her kidney problems may, or may not be related.
Either way, she needs to take extreme care of herself or she's going to end up having to have dialysis. I hope she is seeing a urologist.

People can live normal lives with just one kidney. However your cousin needs further testing to determine this. Dialysis would be an option if her kidney fails completely. I would have your cousin to get further tests done to figure out why the other kidney is failing.

To my knowledge TB does not affect the kidneys, although it can travel to various parts of the body. Not sure what age group you are. Chances are your cousin is having problems with the one remaining kidney. Wide spread TB was a wee bit before my time although I do know it is coming back.

To diagnose a chronic condition based on your report of her kidney failure would be impossible to do on line.

Based on all of her lab studies and tests, the doctor likely has a good idea what has caused her other kidney to fail.

However, since this is your cousin's health care issue, it would be an invasion of privacy for you to ask the doctor about this.

And, when you bring her personal health issues to this forum, even though you don't mean to, you are gossiping about her private health issues.

I would suggest either asking your cousin directly, or to forget the subject and move on.
