No, emphysema is a completely different disease. However both can be caused by smoking.

Emphysema is an inability to take in enough oxygen.

Cancer is the cells in a certain area (whichever area you care to mention) begin dividing again and again and again. Normal cells, when they divide, one of the resulting cells can no longer divide, but the other one of the pair can. In cancer cells, both of the pairs can (and do) divide again and again, until you die.

theyre two different diseases, but both are caused by smoking so its not unusual for a smoker to have both
