6" personal size pizza is normally cut into 4 slices. 10"-12"... 6 slices normally if it is for adults only...8 slices if children are being served. 14"- 16" normally 8 slices...if you have small children these size pizzas are usually cut into squares rather than the slices...usually 2 or 3 vertical and 2 or 3 horizontal cuts are used giving you 9, 12, or 16 pizza squares. For pizzas 18" and larger they are usually cut into squares in order to keep the pizza toppings from falling off.
A good pizza cutter is a must if you make a lot of pizza. Do yourself a big favor and get a heavy duty one with a good pizza wheel. The wheel should not wobble but spin freely. A swift single cutting motion rather than a sawing cutting motion will ensure that your toppings stay where they should be.

depends on the size, what type and where it's from. Pizza Hut's rules are, PPP (personal pan pizza) is 2 cuts/ 4 slices, small and med are cut into 8 slices and a large is 12. Most NYC style pizzareas cut 16 in pizza into 8 slices. Sicillian style (square) are generally cut into 8-12 slices.

It depends on the size of the pizza. One of those small personal pan pizzas only needs 4 slices, but a great big pizza needs to be cut into many more slices than that.

Most pizza's are sliced into 8 slices. I think this is mostly because of their size though. A very large pizza should probably be cut into more and a smaller one should be but into less. It's really up to you though. Go crazy!

I cut mine in 6 slices. I can't eat 8 or 12....

Do you mean a frozen 12 inch pizza? I cut those into 4 pieces.
When I make hommemade pizza I make it in a rectangle pan and cut it into about 8 pieces.
I suppose it all depends on how many people are eating it. You know, so they all get the same number of pieces.
