Yes you can.
According to the American Red Cross:
"Chlamydia, venereal warts (human papilloma virus), or genital herpes are not a cause for deferral if you are feeling healthy and well and meet all other eligibility requirements."

Individuals With Herpes Can Donate Blood. According to the American Red Cross, individuals taking antiviral medication (acyclovir, valacyclovir, famciclovir) for any reason will need to wait 48 hours after their last dose before donating blood. The American Red Cross also defers individuals who are currently experiencing an outbreak of oral herpes ("cold sores") or genital herpes to not donate blood.

Wrong people above me...wrong. Yes you CAN give blood if you have herpes. Go to the Red Cross website and look under their donor specifications.
People give bad advice without even knowing. Geez.

Only healthy volunteers.
No bacterial or viral infections. Donated blood is to help injured people get well, not give them new infections.
The Red Cross even screens blood for problems, and you fill out and sign a form on which they ask you aout any infections you may have.

they can turn you down for your sexual habits ALONE. you are a high risk donor if you have already contracted an STD.
