U will always have the virus. u just have to keep up with your pap smears annully to keep an eye on it. If u don't it can cause cervical cancer.

the HPV virus will remain with you 4ever, what clears up on it's own is the symptom (wart) that develops on the skin. The HPV shot can only be effective against 4 types of the HPV branch (since there are over 100 types in the HPV family). If you dont have one of the 4 types then it can help prevent those 4 from causing harm

HPV is a virus and usually is forever. Unfortunately the Gardasil shot will only help those that have not already contracted HPV. If you have it then it wont help you. This is why they are pushing it on such young girls. Ideally they would like to see girls that have not had sex yet get the immunization.

You can get the Gardasil whenever you want. I just got it yesterday. I've had HPV now for 5yrs. The only thing I've had is pre-cancerous cells I haven't had any warts and I am praying I don't either. Good luck!! =)

HPV is not curable, once you have it, you are stuck with it. What goes away are the symptoms that lead to the original diagnosis, but the virus remains forever.
