Spiced Iced Tea

4 cups cold water
8 tea bags
4 whole cloves
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 orange, cut in half and thinly sliced

Ice

Heat water to boiling. Place tea bags, cloves, and sugar in a heatproof bowl. Stir in boiling water; cover and steep 5 minutes. Add orange juice, lemon juice. Pour into a pitcher and cool 30 minutes. Chill. To serve, stir in orange slices and pour over ice.

Makes 1 quart.

This is always a hit, and I usually serve it at wedding or baby showers. The original recipe calls for a tsp of Tabasco, but I've never been brave enough to try that.

Yes, smoothies are my favorite summer drink. Most people usually put bananas in their smoothies and then build them from there. I think fresh fruits are essential, but frozen will do just fine. And during the summer there are so many available: strawberries, melons, kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, mango, papaya, pineapple. And you can add other things like: milk (cow-, soy-, rice-, coconut-, almond-), fruit juices, yougurt, honey, maple syrup. And don't frorget the ice cubes. I like to use crushed ice or small ice cubes instead of regular cubes, since it's easier to blend and doesn't put as much strain on the blades.

And don't forget, there are lots of smoothies books out there, just in case you run out of smoothie ideas!

Another drink option is to use non-alocholic champagne and mix in fruit juices and garnish with fresh fruit.

Enjoy your upcoming summer. I know I'll be chillin' with my own assortment of fresh smoothies while taking in the blazing sun.

Smoothies, shakes, and frozen are the best in summer heat! Also refreshing drinks such as coke (carbonated drinks), fruit juices, iced tea, and soda.

People don't prefer drinks like chocolate drinks in summer because they;re not easing the thirst. Smoothies, shakes, and frozen can also be chocolate but they are cold so they will do.

Virgin pina colada! Delicious when served over ice. 7oz of pineapple juice, 2 oz of coconut cream, and 1 cup of crushed ice in a blender at high speed is all it takes. Garnish with slices of pineapple or add some cherries.

You could make Arnie Palmers. Half iced tea, half lemonade and garnish with lemon and a sprig of mint.
